Carex comosa, or bristly sedge, is a native wetland sedge with distinctive feathery inflorescences. This hardy, moisture-loving species supports many lepidoptera species and is ideal for rain gardens, bioswales, and ecological restoration projects in wet areas.

Mt. Cuba Center trials also concluded that it works nicely in cultivated garden soils and has some of the broadest, most colorful foliage of any Carex species.
