New Jersey Tea is a small native shrub that looks like a cultivar from traditional landscaping with its rounded habit and impressive display of white flower clusters in mid-summer. It is hardy and drought-tolerant once established, thrives in well-drained soil and full to partial sun, and supports loads of pollinators.

Ideal for gardens and cut-flower growers, New Jersey Tea is not resistant to deer browse and so requires some protection. It is late to emerge in the spring and blooms on new growth, so, once established, it can be cut down to the ground in the winter to encourage longer stems the following season.
