Glyceria striata, or Flowl Manna Grass, is a versatile, cool-season wetland grass widespread across North America. With graceful, distinctive seed heads arching over an erect clump of bright foliage, it grows happily in wet marshes and meadows or along shaded stream banks, where it can easily withstand some inundation and standing water. A great choice for ditches, rain gardens and bioswales, this tough plant can also thrive in medium soils that do not dry out for extended periods. Works well as an airy, elegant grass for flower arrangements, and provides many  benefits to wildlife as a larval host plant, nesting site, and food source for water fowl and mammals - except for deer, who tend to leave it alone.
