Hypericum punctatum is a petite St. John's Wort, only getting about two feet tall. It has distinctive black spotting all over young leaves and bright yellow flowers. Once established, it forms upright stems that grow from a base that may become woody over time. This drought-tolerant perennial thrives in full sun and poor-to-moderate soil, requires low maintenance and is highly deer resistant.
