Packera aurea is a wonderful, low growing perennial for full or part sun and medium to wet soils. It produces lovely yellow flowers in the spring, and for the rest of the season forms a nice ground cover through spreading rhizomes. It can grow into small colonies, but is not so aggressive as to displace most other perennials, and though deer will occasionally browse young flowers is mostly resistant to herbivory.
