Penstemon digitalis, commonly known as Foxglove Beardtongue, is an easy-to-grow perennial wildflower with attractive green and red foliar clumps below tall spikes of white to pale pink flowers. It thrives in well-drained soil and full or partial sun conditions - able to withstand dry soils once established - making it an excellent choice for gardens, meadows, woodland edges, and forest clearings. Standing 2-4 feet tall, its tubular flowers attract many types of pollinators, including hummingbirds. It may self-seed around the garden a bit but is not overly aggressive. Makes an excellent cut-flower when grown as a biennial.
