Similar in appearance to Clustered Mountain Mint, Pycnanthemum verticillatum var. pilosum, or Hairy mountain mint, is distinguished by its fuzzy stems and more pyramidal overall shape. Otherwise, it is similar in its intoxicating, mint-like aroma, its deer resistance, and its attractiveness to pollinators. This hardy plant thrives in well-drained soil and partial to full sun conditions, and is an excellent choice for gardens, borders, and pollinator habitats.

Hairy Mountain Mint also makes an excellent cut-flower, harvestable in its foliage, flower, and seed stages.
