Ratibida pinnata, or Yellow Coneflower, is an easy-to-grow native with vibrant yellow flowers in mid summer. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, making it an excellent choice for meadows, pollinator habitat, and gardens alike. It reaches about 3-4 feet tall, with distinctive drooping petals and a prominent central cone. Drought-tolerant once established, Ratibida pinnata attracts loads of butterflies and bees. It makes an excellent cut-flower beginning in July, with long, sturdy branching stems.
